Yukon Territory
Best known for the Klondike gold rush that saw over 100,000 prospectors risk life and limb for the precious metal between 1896 and 1899, the Yukon River remains as wild and beautiful as it was over a century ago. Glacier-fed lakes and immense beautiful mountains make up the majority of the Yukon landscape. The historical capital city of Whitehorse situated alongside the Yukon River has a population of a little over 25,000 people. Job opportunities in Canada may be broad and plenty, but no place will offer a unique quality of life quite like the Yukon, one that you won’t find anywhere else on earth. While the cost of living in Yukon is slightly higher than the national average, this is because people are paid more on average due to the remoteness of the region. Finally, we cannot move along without mentioning one of the Yukon's greatest attractions, the northern lights or aurora borealis; a beautiful natural phenomenon that causes the winter night skies to frequently light up in a variety of stunning colorful lights.
Let's take a closer look at how you can immigrate to the province and which are the top in-demand jobs in Yukon in 2022.
Immigration Streams
There are three streams through which you can earn a Yukon nomination; the Express Entry program, Skilled Worker Program, or the Critical Impact Worker Program. If you are applying through the Express Entry program, you will need to meet the federal immigration requirements. This program can yield a quicker pathway to obtaining permanent residency, however, it entails more stringent requirements. The first step is to determine which stream you must apply to as well as secure a valid job offer from a designated employer. There are many job opportunities in Canada, and the Yukon is no exception. You must meet the eligibility requirements of your chosen stream. Submit your application to the Yukon provincial government or through the Express Entry system.

The Yukon Community Pilot
Due to high labour demands, six communities in the province have introduced the Yukon Community Pilot (YCP). This special pilot which will run for three years will allow foreigners who can secure a provincial nomination to apply for a work permit that will enable them to work for two or three employers at the same time. As you may know, one of the requirements when applying for permanent residency in Canada is working in an occupation for a minimum of 30 hours a week. This special work permit will address that requirement if you can secure two or three jobs that together will add to up at least 30 hours per week.
